About

Ailin wants you to remember the magic that pulses through every atom of life, reconnecting us to our bodies, each other, and the land. Let yourself be led by the wisdom of the natural world.

Like many others raised in an academic setting, Ailin was taught to hold the scientific method and biomedicine as the gold standard, and prided herself in her strict adherence to Cartesian values that saw the body (emotion) as a pollutant of the mind (intellect and reason). Then, she noticed that in her sterile world where life was segmented into neat boxes and reproducible studies, she had become separated from herself. She was unable to trust her gut because she didn’t know where it was.

In their journey to reconnect with body and spirit, Ailin applied her evidence based approach to understanding alternative healing modalities. After years of testing and observation, the evidence for the validity of astrology was undeniable. She evolved from skeptic to believer to practitioner. Ailin’s astrological studies reconnected her with her intuition, and pushed her into the world of healing arts.

Ailin’s approach is time tested, grounded and practical, folding in equal parts of the mundane and the mystical. They are available for 1-1 client work, team building events, and teaching opportunities.

Ailin’s astrology journey began in 2015 with psychological modern astrology. From 2022-2024, Ailin was elected as President of the Aquarian Organization of Astrologers where she was tasked to help bring education and programming to Kansas City. Concurrently, she began studies in herbalism at Sacred Earth Arts with Regina Compernolle and taiji and qigong at the Tao Academy with Fred and Sandy Weaver. The name Madguii is a combination of English and Chinese. Mad speaks to the madness of life. Gui (鬼) is Chinese for ghost or mischievous spirit. Together, madguii is a mercurial invitation to embrace the spectacle of life as we navigate change, the only constant.
